HELPING IDPs TOGETHER WITH THE PROJECT OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

On August 19, 2021, Serhii Komnatnyi, Chairman of the Board of the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction, held a meeting with the Head of the Council of Europe Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Development of Long-Term Solutions. Phase II” by Anna Hristova and Project Coordinator Serhii Marushchenko.

During the meeting, the working issues of the Fund’s cooperation with international institutions in the interests of ensuring the right to housing for internally displaced persons in Ukraine were discussed. After all, this problem has not yet found a lasting solution and will be a serious challenge for our country for a long time to come. In particular, the discussion was about adapting successful foreign practices to Ukrainian realities.

Serhii Komnatnyi spoke about the experience of the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction in implementing the grant project "Housing for IDPs" together with the Ministry of Reintegration and the German bank KfW with funding provided by the Government of Germany.

Anna Khrystova noted the efforts of the State Fund and its leadership to improve the system and quality of activities of national bodies and institutions of Ukraine to ensure the housing rights of IDPs and modernize the relevant legal framework. The Project Manager thanked Serhii Komnatnyi for his significant contribution to establishing cooperation in the field of "Integration of IDPs and protection of the population affected by the conflict" during the coordination meeting with partner communities.
