OLEKSII CHERNYSHOV: SOCIAL HOUSING PROGRAM CAME INTO FORCE
On 27 September 2022 in Sumy, the SFYH handed over the keys to social apartments for temporary residence to large families and families of displaced persons whose homes were destroyed due to hostilities.
The keys were handed to the families by Nataliia Kozlovska, Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, and Serhii Komnatnyi, Chairman of the SFYH's Board, with the participation of Dmytro Zhivytskyi, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
"The government is developing mechanisms for solving the housing problem of Ukrainians who were deprived of a roof over their heads by the aggressor. One of them is the provision of housing for temporary residence. Today, nine families received social housing in Sumy. Two more families will settle in Romny. In the coming days, families in Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions will receive social housing," said Oleksii Chernyshov, Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
The SFYH has already purchased 60 apartments under this program in the regions mentioned.
Furthermore, apartments under the program are provided to citizens "on a turn-key basis" - with repairs, furniture, and household appliances.
In addition, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society purchased and provided household appliances, bedding, and necessary cutlery and crockery for families.
For reference:
The list of affected individuals, who are provided with housing for temporary residence, is determined by the regional and Kyiv city military administrations, taking into account the priority. The priority is determined by the Procedure for the formation of housing funds intended for temporary residence, accounting and provision of such housing for temporary residence of internally displaced persons.
The SFYH procures apartments for temporary residence of internally displaced persons, primarily for large families and families whose housing was destroyed as a result of Russian aggression in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.
