Three fourths of respondents trust State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction

On October 5, a meeting of Chairman of the Board Serhii Komnatnyi and Deputy Chairman of the Board Ivan Parukh with representatives of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency Ihor Chantefort, Senior Development Advisor and Anita Rohner, Durable Solutions Advisor was held at the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction.

   

The participants of the meeting discussed the results of the UNHCR interviewing of families of forcibly displaced persons, who are participants of state housing programs being administered by the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction.

Within assessment, information was gathered and analyzed on demographic, social and economic profile of the participants of program concerning IDPs’ access to the program and their satisfaction by the procedure, selection of housing objects and access to infrastructure objects.

   

The obtained results will become a substantial component of argumentation of importance of housing programs for IDPs and other categories of citizens and of the necessity to upgrade the level of services in the state in the domain of providing people with affordable housing.

Full results of the research will be given soon. But now already high level of forcibly displaced persons’ trust towards State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction attracts attention: 76% of respondents trust the Fund. The majority called the search for documents necessary for the participation in the program on the Fund’s website uncomplicated. 85% used a possibility to ask questions they consider being important through the Fund’s hotline.

At the end of communication, Serhii Komnatnyi emphasized the significance of practical assistance and recommendations of international institutions, such as UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, Council of Europe, UNECE and others for modernization of the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction activities. “We are ready to widen cooperation for the sake of our citizens. In particular, we’re interested in the best world experience in solving the IDPs’ housing problem”, he said.
