SFYH ISSUED 189 MORTGAGE LOANS IN JANUARY-MAY 2023

The Credit Committee of the SFYH reports on the status of housing loan agreements concluded with citizens in January-May 2023.

It also provides data on the volume of settlement of contractual relations with families who found themselves in special circumstances due to Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

According to the press service of the SFYH, Elvira Levchenko, a member of the Fund's Board and chairman of the Credit Committee, concluded 189 mortgage agreements totaling UAH 282.7 million between January 1 and June 1 this year as part of the housing programs administered by the SFYH.

Of these, 33 contracts worth UAH 41.6 million were concluded in May 2023.

In January-May 2023, the SFYH provided loans under the following programs:

Soft mortgage lending to internally displaced persons at the expense of a grant provided by the KfW (Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 451 dated 28.04.2021): 75 agreements worth UAH 131.5 million were concluded. Of these, 4 agreements worth UAH 6.6 million were concluded in May 2023;

Soft youth lending at the expense of the authorized capital of the SFYH (CMU Resolution No. 488 of 11.05.2011): 104 agreements worth UAH 138.2 million were concluded. Of these, 23 contracts worth UAH 27.1 million were signed in May 2023;

- Local housing programs: 10 contracts worth UAH 13 million were concluded. Of these, 6 contracts worth UAH 7.9 million were signed in May 2023.

At the same time, the SFYH is taking measures to support borrowers whose property was destroyed or damaged as a result of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine or who are in the temporarily occupied territories or in the combat zone. The Fund's attention is also focused on families who have lost their income due to the war.

This work is being carried out pursuant to the Law of Ukraine No. 2823 of December 1, 2022, and the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1153 of October 12, 2022, and No. 1132 of October 08, 2022.

According to Elvira Levchenko, the SFYH has developed internal regulations that have settled contractual relations with 296 borrowers who owe UAH 36.3 thousand on loans issued under the SFYH's programs due to circumstances related to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Of this number, 9 borrowers received a deferral/suspension of loan payments due to damage or complete destruction of their housing by the occupiers.

For 266 borrowers, the accrual of payments was suspended due to the location of their property purchased with a mortgage loan in the territories temporarily occupied by Russia or where military operations are underway.

The armed aggression has hit the financial stability of Ukrainians. Many citizens have evacuated, lost their jobs or had their income significantly reduced. As a result, some borrowers have lost the ability to fulfill their housing loan obligations.

For this category of families, the SFYH has developed a loan restructuring mechanism. To date, borrowers with 21 loans have already taken advantage of this offer. Since the beginning of the aggression, they have accumulated over UAH 2 million in overdue debts. Based on their financial capabilities and the chosen restructuring parameters, these citizens resumed loan repayments under new payment schedules.
