UNOPS - new prospects for international cooperation
Serhii Komnatnyi, Chairman of the Board of State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction (SFYH), took part in an online meeting with representatives of the international organization UNOPS in Ukraine.
The purpose of the meeting is to exchange information and to explore opportunities for cooperation with UNOPS in the direction of increasing the availability of housing for socially vulnerable groups in Ukraine.
UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services, UNOPS) is a United Nations organization whose mission is to support people around the world in improving their living conditions and countries in sustainable development. UNOPS implements projects in dozens of UN member states, cooperates with a wide range of organizations, and assists partners in finding and creating sustainable solutions, in particular on housing issues.
During the first introductory meeting, Serhii Komnatnyi presented the results of the work and the potential of State Fund as an institution, founded by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and tasked with implementing the state housing policy.
There was information about the projects that UNOPS is implementing in Ukraine, opportunities and plans of this international institution.
- We are interested in expanding the opportunities for attracting out-of-budget funds for housing projects, - said the head of SFYH. - The housing issue is one of the most acute for the citizens of Ukraine. Taking into account the demand for housing programs in society and the limited funding from the national budget, SFYH is actively looking for alternative ways to provide families with housing. Among such key opportunities is the implementation of international investment projects.
- The fund is an institution that is open and transparent to all partners, including foreign ones, - Serhii Komnatnyi assured. - We are ready to provide our proposals and in further communication to develop a common vision of opportunities to support Ukrainian citizens in the implementation of their constitutional right to housing.
